THE FLORENCE ACADEMY OF TROMPE L'OEIL PAINTING

The Florence Academy of Trompe l'Oeil Painting has been operating for four years as the Tania Vartan Academy. We have now moved to a permanent base in Florence, Italy where we have courses throughout the year.
Those of you who love Tuscany know this capital of Painting, Sculpture and Art History.
Upon completion of the Fall/Winter session you will have earned a certificate of achievement from the Florence Academy of Trompe L'Oeil Painting.

Since 1981, Tania Vartan Studio has produced award winning murals and works in Trompe l'oeil in America, Europe and England. Her first commission was from the late interior designer, Mark Hampton, with whom she collaborated exclusively for two years. We have established the Academy of Trompe l'Oeil and Decorative Painting for those of you who are interested in learning the time honored art of the painted surface in architecture. Our mission is to give our students a sense of finesse and good taste in creating Trompe l’Oeil finishes and murals. There are thousands of Trompe l’Oeil painters but only a very few with talent and flair. With "total immersion" and hands-on instruction, we will discover and practice this old master craft at its source.    A high degree of individual attention will be given along with guided tours to palaces, Medici villas, and museums. We are one of a very few such academies in the world dedicated to the continuation of this classical tradition  Our student body is highly international and all courses are taught in English. We intend to instill classical “chic” and self-assurance in our artists; this can only be done by studying the masters in the atmosphere where it all began.
