About Tania Vartan
EXIBITIONS AND COMMISSIONS
Since 1981, Tania Vartan has produced award
winning murals and works in Trompe l'oeil in America, Europe and England. Her
mentor was the great New York muralist, Eloi Bordelon and her first commission was from the late interior
designer, Mark Hampton, with whom she collaborated exclusively for two years.
Ms. Vartan has life-size murals on permanent
exposition in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.; they
depict interiors in the White House circa 1902.
Among private and public commissions in Europe and
England, Tania Vartan Studio executed the lobby of the famous hotel, La
Voile d'Or in Cap Ferrat, France. At the same time, Ms. Vartan taught
workshops for six years in the disciplines of Trompe l'oeil painting. At
that time her work was exhibited in galleries and museums in Southern
France.
Tania Vartan has lectured in the U.S., France and
England on the History of Trompe l'oeil painting; she is an expert on
the subject as well as a talented practitioner. Her work can be seen in
several books on Interior Design and Decorative Painting.
