We will stay in hotel Giotto where we are provided with 2 meals a day (breakfast and dinner).

Assisi is the home of the famous cathedral filled with freschi  by Giotto  as well  early Renaissance churches, palazzi and works by Lorenzetti and Martini.

There will be 4-5 hours a day instruction in the techniques of marbleizing, faux bois, faux semi- precious stones and specialty finishes. We will also study stencilling, perspective and the essentials of mural painting. Water based methods are used.

Tuition is $3.900. Lodging, demi – pension and materials are included in this price.

This workshop is in association with the art workshops International who have been holding this July session for 25 years in Assisi. There will be painters and writers in other media and we will share in their excursions and they in ours. So the costs of supplemental trips are minimal. Lectures and readings are also available to us.

The summer months are filled with concerts and events in Assisi. Optional trips to Florence, Urbino and Venice are available. We can take forays into Perugia as well as Arezzo, site of Piero Della Francesca’s fresco cycle, “The True Cross “.
